On April 15, 2023, Kevin Chad Camp, a 51-year-old agriculture teacher and softball coach at Calvin High School in Calvin, Louisiana, was fatally shot in what authorities described as a "family situation".

The incident occurred at Camp's residence on La. Highway 501 north of Calvin. Deputies and ambulance personnel responded to a 911 call and found Camp suffering from a gunshot wound. He was declared dead at the scene by the Winn Parish Coroner’s Office.
