In the summer of 2022, a 39-year-old African American man named Lamar Ford was shot and killed in New Orleans. The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 5th, in the 1300 block of Elysian Fields Avenue. According to reports, an unidentified individual exited a vehicle, stood over Ford, and shot him twice in the head. Emergency medical technicians arrived at the scene but were unable to save him, and he was pronounced dead.
