Cody DeShawn Lastrapes, a 22-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on April 6, 2017, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Cody was born on October 2, 1994, and was a resident of Lake Charles. On the fateful day of his death, Cody was fatally shot in the 2000 block of Tulip Street. The incident also resulted in injuries to another man and two women. Authorities recovered 79 shell casings from four different weapons at the scene, indicating the severity of the shooting.
