On May 24, 2023, 72-year-old Eddie Lee Rogers was fatally shot outside his residence in the 1800 block of David Raines Road in Shreveport, Louisiana. The incident occurred shortly after 9:10 p.m. Rogers was transported to Ochsner LSU Health Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:19 p.m. This marked the 29th homicide in Shreveport and Caddo Parish for the year.
