In a grim turn of domestic events, Larry Clark, a 45-year-old man from Shreveport, Louisiana, was killed on May 16, 2022. His life was cut short in his own home, the victim of a violent act perpetrated by his wife, Charlene Henderson, who was the same age. The crime was not a simple act of passion but a calculated and cold-blooded murder.

Henderson shot her husband, and in an attempt to conceal the crime, she covered his body with a piece of carpet. Adding a particularly macabre detail to the act, she then doused his body with gasoline. Before alerting the authorities, Henderson took a photograph of her husband's body and sent it to a family member via text message. It was only after this that she made a call to 911 to report the killing.
When law enforcement arrived at the residence, they were met with the strong smell of gasoline. An investigation into the crime led to the arrest of Charlene Henderson. The evidence against her was compelling, and in June 2024, a Caddo Parish jury took less than two hours to find her guilty of second-degree murder. For her crimes, Henderson received a mandatory life sentence in prison. In addition to the life sentence for the murder, she was also sentenced to an additional 20 years for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
