On a summer evening in Shreveport, Louisiana, the life of 24-year-old Trevion J. Marshall was tragically cut short. On June 5, 2024, in the 3500 block of Milam Street, Marshall was struck by gunfire. A friend, in a desperate act, attempted to drive him to the hospital but was intercepted by emergency personnel from the Shreveport Fire Department who were already en route to the scene.
Despite their swift medical intervention and transport to a local hospital, Trevion Marshall succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The Violent Crimes Unit of the Shreveport Police Department immediately began a thorough investigation into the homicide. Their determined efforts soon led to the identification of a suspect, Shontravious Rogers. As authorities delved deeper into Rogers's background, they discovered he had active warrants for second-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and failure to register as a sex offender, stemming from a prior conviction for sexual battery. While a motive for the fatal shooting has not been made public, authorities considered Rogers to be armed and dangerous as they began their search.
The pursuit of Shontravious Rogers concluded on July 17, 2025, when he was located and apprehended in Fort Worth, Texas, through a collaborative effort between the Shreveport Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service. Following his arrest, Rogers was extradited to Shreveport and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on July 29, 2025. The arrest brought a sense of progress in the quest for justice for Trevion Marshall and his grieving family.
