On August 18, 2023, Thomas Blake Touchette, a 59-year-old resident of Rayne, Louisiana, was fatally shot in an incident that occurred at the Family Dollar store located at 815 The Boulevard in Rayne. The Rayne Police Department responded to a call regarding a shooting in progress at approximately 5:08 PM.
