On February 11, 2024, in Shreveport, Louisiana, one-year-old Karter Amir Martin was fatally struck by a bullet while sleeping in his family's apartment at the Stone Vista Apartments on East Stoner Avenue. The incident occurred around 3:49 a.m. when multiple shots were fired into the building, also injuring an adult male who was present. Karter was pronounced dead at the scene, while the injured man was transported to Ochsner LSU Health Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
