In the late afternoon of Friday, March 1, 2024, the city of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was marked by a sudden act of violence that claimed the life of 56-year-old Roderick Fred Adams. A male resident of the community, Adams was in the parking lot of Eric's Grocery Store located at 3038 North Street when the fatal encounter occurred. The time was approximately 4:52 p.m., a time when many residents were likely concluding their work week and preparing for the weekend.
