A sudden act of violence tragically cut short the life of Corey Jermaine Boyd, a 34-year-old male from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. On the late evening of Tuesday, February 9, 2016, Boyd was shot in the 800 block of North 31st Street. He was rushed to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries two days later on February 11, 2016.

The investigation into the homicide moved swiftly, and within a week, the Baton Rouge Police Department had a suspect in custody. On February 17 ...
