On a December morning in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a physical altercation inside a business on Dougherty Drive escalated to a fatal conclusion. The incident, which occurred around 9:30 a.m. on December 19, 2022, resulted in the shooting death of 28-year-old Timothy Torshalln Stewart. When authorities arrived, they found that Stewart had succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Initial reports from the Baton Rouge Police Department indicated that the shooting stemmed from a fight Stewart had
with another individual inside the establishment. In the immediate aftermath, the suspect was unknown, and authorities sought help from the public for any information regarding the shooting. The investigation into the death of the young man was swiftly undertaken by homicide detectives.
A break in the case came a couple of months later. Following their investigation, detectives identified James Keith Weber, 29, as the alleged shooter. An arrest warrant was secured, and on February 28, 2023, Weber was taken into custody. He was subsequently booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon for his connection to the death of Timothy Stewart.
