On the evening of May 18, 2024, a graduation party in Marrero, Louisiana, turned into a scene of violence that claimed the life of 17-year-old Dontrell Pierre. Gunfire erupted near Rue Louis Philippe and Westwood Drive as the celebration was winding down. When Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office deputies arrived around 8 p.m., they discovered Pierre suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
