On March 5, 2023, a tragic shooting occurred in Marrero, Louisiana, resulting in the death of 30-year-old Derrick Kinchen. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of James Drive and Wabash Drive. Upon arrival, deputies discovered two men outside a residence, each suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
