On August 8, 2016, Ridge Joseph Fonseca, a 24-year-old White male from Marrero, Louisiana, was found fatally shot along the 4900 block of Leo Kerner Lafitte Parkway. Deputies from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office responded to reports of gunfire around 11 a.m. and discovered Fonseca lying unconscious on the roadside. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
