On the evening of May 23, 2024, Baton Rouge Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 11000 block of North Harrell's Ferry Road. Upon arrival around 9:51 p.m., they discovered 26-year-old Dauntre Alvis in his vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Alvis was promptly transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
