In the early morning hours of a Tuesday in May 2018, the quiet of a BREC park in Baton Rouge was shattered by the sound of gunfire. When police arrived at the scene in the 2800 block of 77th Avenue shortly before 7:20 a.m., they discovered the body of 19-year-old Douglass Chenevert IV. He had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
