Breyone Grimes, a 37-year-old man, was fatally shot on the evening of June 10, 2024, in Shreveport, Louisiana. The incident occurred just after 8 p.m. in the 3600 block of Hollywood Avenue, where Grimes was inside his vehicle at a gas station's parking lot. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Shreveport Police Department immediately began an investigation into the shooting.
The Caddo Parish Coroner's office confirmed Grimes's identity and ordered an autopsy. This event marked the 34th homicide in Caddo Parish and the 31st within the Shreveport city limits for the year 2024.
In connection with the death of Breyone Grimes, authorities arrested a suspect, Carlos Heard. During the arrest, law enforcement officers seized 26 firearms. Heard has since been charged with murder in relation to the fatal shooting. The investigation by the Shreveport Police Department is ongoing.
