In the days leading up to Christmas in 2016, the life of 35-year-old DeMarco Hill, a male resident of Shreveport, Louisiana, was tragically cut short. On the night of December 23rd, Hill was sitting in his car in the parking lot of the NLB Grocery market at the intersection of West 70th and Union Street. It was there that an unknown assailant or assailants approached and fired upon him, striking him twice in the head.
The sound of gunfire pierced the late-night air around 11 p.m., prompting calls to the Shreveport Police Department.
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Hill's body in his vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the location, becoming the city's 44th homicide victim of the year. In the initial stages of the investigation, police worked to gather evidence, including seeking surveillance footage from the area.
