He was the kind of person who would give you a ride if you needed one, as long as you had gas money, and was adept at fixing cars, detailing them with the same care he showed his family. He cherished his family unconditionally, ending every conversation with his parents and siblings with 'I love you.'
His daily calls or texts to his mother were a testament to his devotion.
On Saturday, October 5, 2024, Stanley's life was cut short in an act of violence. Around 2 p.m. that afternoon, he and another individual drove to the 2300 block of Louisa Street in New Orleans. There, they were approached by an unknown person. An argument is believed to have ensued, which tragically escalated to the unknown individual opening fire into the vehicle Stanley occupied. Both men were struck by the gunfire.
Emergency services arrived to find both victims with gunshot wounds and transported them to a nearby hospital. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Stanley Dewayne Williams was pronounced deceased. The second victim was also treated for his injuries. The New Orleans Police Department's Homicide Section is actively investigating the shooting. As of now, they are working to identify the unknown subject responsible for this senseless act and to determine a motive. Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
