In the spring of 2019, the life of 24-year-old Edgard Melendez-Ortiz was cut tragically short in Pascagoula, Mississippi. A native of Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, he had been a resident of the Gulf Coast city for 21 years. On April 26th, he was fatally shot during what was reported as a home invasion at an apartment complex.
