On October 22, 2023, at approximately midnight, Louisville Metro Police Department officers responded to a shooting in the 1500 block of Berry Boulevard in the Jacobs neighborhood. Upon arrival, they found 45-year-old Crystal Fultz and a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to UofL Hospital, where Fultz succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival. The male victim sustained minor injuries and is expected to recover.
