On April 29, 2024, at approximately 11:40 a.m., the Kentucky State Police (KSP) received an anonymous call reporting a shooting on Sandhill Road in Rockcastle County. Upon arrival, officers discovered 54-year-old Benjamin Franklin Jones Jr. of Livingston, Kentucky, lying deceased in the roadway with apparent gunshot wounds. The Rockcastle County Coroner pronounced him dead at the scene, and his body was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
