In the afternoon hours of a Sunday in Louisville, Kentucky, a dispute escalated into deadly violence, claiming the life of 44-year-old Shane Spanjers. On November 10, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department were dispatched to the 1000 block of South 26th Street, near the intersection of the California and Parkland neighborhoods, following reports of a shooting.
Upon their arrival, they discovered Spanjers suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso.
Emergency medical services transported Spanjers to the University of Louisville Hospital in critical condition. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries during surgery.
