On the evening of October 5, 2023, a domestic disturbance call led Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies to the Mount Hood Village RV Resort in Welches, Oregon. There, they discovered the body of 46-year-old Matthew Reid Mullin, a White / Caucasian male, outside a trailer. He had sustained apparent gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Inside the same trailer, deputies found Matthew's wife, 50-year-old Kimberly Taylor Mullin, also with gunshot wounds. Lifesaving efforts were attempted, and she was transported by Life Flight to a hospital in Portland, but she ultimately succumbed to her injuries. The couple were residents of Welches.
A third man was present at the scene and has been cooperating with investigators. Authorities have not released his identity, and he has not been charged in connection with the shootings. The investigation into the deaths of Matthew and Kimberly Mullin is ongoing, and as of now, no suspects have been publicly named, and no arrests have been made.
