Deangelo Augustus, a 38-year-old resident of Salem, Oregon, was one of the two victims killed in a shooting at the M. James Gleason Memorial Boat Ramp in Northeast Portland on July 13, 2024. The other victim was Jmeire Asher, an 18-year-old from Portland.
The incident occurred in the evening, with police being called to the scene just before 8 p.m. after reports of shots being heard. Upon arrival, officers found both Asher and Augustus already deceased.
The county Medical Examiner determined that both victims died from homicide by gunshot wound.
The investigation into the killings is ongoing, and as of the latest updates, no arrests have been made. The suspect or suspects had left the scene before police arrived.
