In the pre-dawn hours of June 28, 2021, a tragedy unfolded in the scenic expanse of Joseph Wood Hill Park, nestled in the Rocky Butte area of Portland, Oregon. At approximately 4:30 a.m., Portland Police Bureau officers responded to a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered the body of 20-year-old Alexzander J. Hensey. An autopsy later confirmed that the young man, a male who had previously resided in Vancouver, had died from gunshot wounds, and his death was officially ruled
a homicide.
The investigation into Hensey's death was launched immediately, with homicide detectives from the Portland Police Bureau taking the lead. In an effort to gather more information, the police partnered with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, seeking the public's assistance in solving the case. Detectives expressed a particular interest in speaking with anyone who may have been at the scene but left before providing a statement to the authorities. Hensey's family provided photographs of him to the police, hoping it would aid in jogging the memory of potential witnesses. A reward of up to $2,500 was offered by Crime Stoppers of Oregon for any information that would lead to an arrest in connection with the homicide.
Despite the ongoing investigation and the appeals to the public for information, no arrests have been made in the case of Alexzander J. Hensey's death. The Portland Police Bureau has not publicly identified any suspects in connection with the shooting.
