In the late hours of a Friday evening in Gary, Indiana, the life of 31-year-old Christopher Jordan, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On September 1, 2023, at approximately 10:30 PM, the sound of gunfire pierced the night, prompting calls to the Gary Police Department about a man down in an alley. When officers arrived at the 500 block of Matthews Street, they discovered Jordan's body behind the Brunswick Cleaners on the city's west side.

confirmed the identity of the victim as Christopher Jordan, a resident of Gary. The cause of his death was determined to be from gun violence. The case is being investigated by the Lake County Prosecutor's Homicide Team.
