In the late morning of March 20, 2024, a burst of gunfire shattered the daytime quiet in the 6400 block of Rockville Road in Indianapolis. When officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene around 11:15 a.m., they discovered two men in the driveway of a home, both suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the men, a 24-year-old male named Julian Camilo Castrillion, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Investigators believe the shooting was not a random act of violence, suggesting that the individuals involved were acquainted with one another. The initial inquiry led to one person being detained for questioning. However, after consultation with the Marion County Prosecutor's Office, that individual was released pending further investigation. Julian Camilo Castrillion was born on October 22, 1999, in Queens, New York. A graduate of Ben Davis High School, he was employed as a ramp agent for Delta Air Lines. As of now, there have been no public announcements regarding any arrests, charges, or the identification of any suspects in his death.
