On August 26, 2024, a tragic shooting occurred on the northeast side of Indianapolis, resulting in the deaths of 22-year-old Jaishawn Darell Johnson and 3-year-old Armonie Booker. The incident took place in the 7300 block of Shadeland Avenue, in the parking lot of a strip mall that includes several stores, such as a Dollar Tree.
