On the night of May 4, 2016, 18-year-old Oscar Gonzalez, a young man from Indianapolis, arrived with a friend at the Knights Inn motel near East 21st Street and Shadeland Avenue on the city’s east side. What began as a response to an online advertisement promising a meeting with a woman quickly turned into something more menacing.
