In the early morning hours of a Saturday in Gary, Indiana, the sound of gunshots pierced the quiet, leading to the discovery of a beloved member of the community, Joseph Harris. The 63-year-old male was found with multiple gunshot wounds in an alley on Calhoun Street on October 12, 2024. First responders, who arrived at the scene around 6:04 AM, found him unresponsive and he was pronounced dead by 7:20 AM.
