On September 19, 2023, 18-year-old Marquese Simmons was fatally shot in Chicago's East Chatham neighborhood. At approximately 8:10 a.m., while walking in the 8100 block of South Ellis Avenue, a black Dodge Charger approached him. Three unidentified male suspects exited the vehicle and opened fire, striking Simmons multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the shooting, the assailants returned to the Dodge Charger and fled southbound. As of now, no arrests have been ...
