In the early morning darkness of July 2, 2025, Ronald McClain, 29, a Black man from Chicago, sat in a vehicle on the 12100 block of South LaSalle Street in West Pullman when another car pulled alongside and someone opened fire. A bullet struck Ronald McClain, 29, in the head; he was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Police recovered a weapon at the scene as detectives began piecing together the moments that led to the ambush.
