Thomas Schweig, a 34-year-old white male, was a dedicated patrolman with the Chicago Police Department. On July 15, 1911, Schweig was tragically killed in the line of duty. The incident occurred shortly after 2:00 a.m. as Schweig was walking home from his shift. He was confronted by an armed assailant in front of 1639 West Ohio Street.
