On December 7, 2023, Virginia Rios, a 39-year-old woman, was fatally shot on the Southwest Side of Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred near a motel in the 7700-block of South Cicero Avenue. Police responded to the scene at approximately 11:45 p.m. and found Rios with gunshot wounds to the neck and back.
According to a witness, Rios was involved in a verbal altercation with a male suspect. During the argument, the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot her before fleeing the scene. R
