Mariah Thomas, a 24-year-old African American woman, was tragically killed on December 27, 2020, in South Chicago. The incident occurred around 3:55 a.m. when Mariah and two men, both 36 years old, were outside in the 8300 block of South Paxton Avenue. Mariah was sitting in a parked vehicle when an unknown assailant opened fire. She sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. The Cook County medical examiner's offic ...
