On June 16, 2024, Elgin police responded to a report of a shooting in the 600 block of Villa Street around 11:30 p.m..
Upon arrival, officers found a man, later identified as 24-year-old Kevin Ambriz, a resident of Elgin (though some sources incorrectly state he was from Algonquin), suffering from gunshot wounds. Ambriz was transported to a local hospital and later transferred to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he died on June 18, 2024, due to multiple gunshot wounds. ...Read More
