Dayquan Wiley, a 17-year-old from Springfield, Illinois, was fatally shot on August 4, 2024. The incident occurred in a home located in the 1800 block of South 11th Street, where Wiley was found in a bedroom suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was subsequently transported to HSHS St. John's Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 3:33 p.m. by emergency room staff.
