On September 29, 2024, Telley Palmer, a 29-year-old man from Columbus, Ohio, was fatally shot in Springfield, Illinois. The incident occurred in the 400 block of South Illinois Avenue, where Springfield Police responded to a report of several shots fired and a subject who had been shot around 2:30 a.m..

Upon arrival, officers found Palmer suffering from approximately 12 gunshot wounds. He was transported by ambulance to Springfield Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at ...
