John Laprice Morgan, a 26-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on July 10, 2017, in Springfield, Illinois. He was shot to death in the parking lot of a south-side apartment complex. The incident occurred at the West Lake Apartments, located in the 100 block of West Lake Shore Drive. Morgan was pronounced dead at St. John's Hospital shortly after the shooting.
