Leslie Broomfield, a 19-year-old male from Springfield, Illinois, was found unresponsive late on the night of November 21, 2025, inside a vehicle that had crashed into a detached garage in the 2400 block of South 13th Street. Police and emergency responders were called to the scene shortly before 11 p.m. for a report of a car that had struck the structure; when officers arrived, they discovered Broomfield inside the vehicle with apparent gunshot wounds.
