Thomas Bright Lankford, a 26-year-old white male, was a Federal Prohibition Agent who tragically lost his life on May 26, 1926, in Springfield, Illinois. Lankford was born in 1900 in Liberty, Tennessee, and had joined the Prohibition Unit on January 30, 1925. He was assigned to guard a seized still near Springfield while other agents continued raiding other locations.
