Hason Willis, a 43-year-old African American man from Springfield, Illinois, tragically lost his life on October 4, 2021. The incident occurred on Adlai Stevenson Drive, where Hason was fatally shot. The Springfield Police Department received a ShotSpotter alert around 9:23 p.m., followed by multiple calls reporting shots fired and a person being shot.
