On November 9, 2024, a tragic shooting occurred outside Hillcrest High School in Country Club Hills, Illinois, resulting in the death of 41-year-old Shamaree Siller of Chicago. The incident took place around 1:30 p.m. during a junior high school boys' basketball tournament. Siller, who was attending the event with his middle-school-aged son, was targeted by multiple armed suspects wearing masks and hoodies.
