Kenyon, affectionately known as "Yonnie" or "Zoe" by his family and friends, was born on September 5, 1991, in Chicago, Illinois. He was a beloved son, brother, and friend who was known for his outgoing personality, caring nature, and fearless love for his family. Kenyon attended New Faith Missionary Baptist Church and graduated from Banner South High School in 2009. He worked various jobs, including positions with Chicago Parks and Recreation and Webster’s Movers.
The circumstances surrounding Kenyon Latham's death are deeply tragic. On the early morning of January 17, 2018, Kenyon was shot to death in south suburban Country Club Hills. The investigation into his murder revealed that he was ambushed by multiple armed offenders who were lying in wait for him in a completely tinted black Infiniti Q50. The suspects, who wore hoodies and masks, blocked Kenyon's path and opened fire on him as he walked to his car with his son. The suspects then fled the scene in the Infiniti, which was last seen on Chicago's South Side.
The Country Club Hills Police Department, with the assistance of the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force, launched an investigation into Kenyon's murder. Surveillance footage of the vehicle involved in the shooting was released to the public, and authorities urged anyone with information about the suspects or the vehicle to come forward. Despite these efforts, the investigation remains ongoing, and no arrests have been made in connection with Kenyon Latham's death.
Kenyon's untimely death has left a void in the lives of his family and friends. He is remembered for his good spirit, strong morals, and deep family roots. His family continues to seek justice for Kenyon and hopes that those responsible for his murder will be brought to justice.
