On the night of January 28, 2023, 30-year-old African American male Alan Dale Huguley Jr. was fatally shot while sitting in his car in the parking lot of the Quality Inn on Jameson Drive in LaGrange, Georgia. Two masked assailants approached his vehicle and fired at least 21 shots, resulting in Huguley suffering twelve gunshot wounds. He was transported to WellStar West Georgia Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
