In the quiet town of Calera, Alabama, the life of a young woman was tragically cut short on the evening of Thursday, February 12, 2026. Jennifer Tori Talley, a 23-year-old female, was killed at a residence on The Heights Drive in the northern part of the city. Her life was taken by an act of gun violence, a devastating event that stemmed from a domestic relationship. The Calera Police Department responded to the incident and quickly identified a suspect in her shooting death.
Law enforcement officials arrested Noah Hendricks in connection with the killing. He has since been charged with murder and is being held in the Shelby County Jail. In the wake of the tragedy, Calera Police Chief David Hyche highlighted the prevalence of domestic violence in violent crimes and pointed to the resources available to victims through the city's Victim Services Coordinator. He also extended his gratitude to the multiple law enforcement agencies that assisted in the case, including the Shelby County District Attorney's Office, the Chilton County Sheriff's Office, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, the Clanton Police Department, and the Pelham Police Department.
Jennifer, born on September 16, 2002, was remembered for her bubbly personality and a sense of humor that could illuminate any room. A 2021 graduate of Chilton County High School, she had found her calling as a Pre-K teacher at West End Baptist Church in Clanton, where she was known for her kindness and patience with her students. Her life was deeply rooted in her faith, having given her life to Christ at a young age. This faith was a constant companion, whether she was traveling to the beach, spending time with her many friends, or being with her family.
Her sudden passing leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory. She is survived by her parents, Burnadette Bailey and Eric Brian Talley, her maternal grandparents, and her devoted sisters and step-siblings. Her family finds a measure of comfort in knowing that she is at peace.
