In the early morning hours of April 1, 2023, the life of 26-year-old Donmeico Mounice Flowers was tragically cut short in Macon, Georgia. Flowers was in the Fort Hill neighborhood when a fight broke out, leading to a fatal shooting. Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones pronounced him dead at the scene on Hall Street following the altercation that was first reported to authorities as a fight around 2:30 a.m.
The news of Donmeico's death was a devastating blow to his family, who had experienced
a similar loss less than a year prior. His 16-year-old brother, Hakeem Flowers, was also a victim of gun violence in June 2022. Donmeico, a graduate of Southwest High School who worked in construction, was remembered by his family and friends as a hardworking man who was deeply loved. He was a father to five children. His family expressed their profound grief, with his stepmother highlighting that he was not involved in gang activity and was known to be a good person.
In the months following the shooting, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office investigated the case. Their efforts led to the arrest of 22-year-old Shamar Robinson in July 2023. Robinson has been charged with murder in connection with Donmeico Flowers's death and is being held at the Bibb County Jail. The family expressed a sense of relief at the arrest, though it could not erase the pain of their loss.
