In the late hours of a Friday night in Macon, Georgia, the life of 29-year-old Rashad Shaquille Reddick was tragically cut short. On April 19, 2024, at approximately 11:48 p.m., deputies from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 3500 block of Fair Street after reports of gunfire echoed through the neighborhood. Upon their arrival, they discovered Reddick suffering from gunshot wounds.
Paramedics were called to the scene, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced deceased by the Chief Deputy Coroner.
The investigation into Reddick's death unfolded over the following weeks. The Bibb County Sheriff's Office diligently worked to piece together the events that led to the fatal shooting. Their efforts culminated on May 15, 2024, when the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force located and apprehended a suspect.
Twenty-eight-year-old Kahlid Harper was taken into custody without incident at a residence on Nesbit Drive. Investigators had connected him to the shooting death of Rashad Reddick. Harper was subsequently transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center where he is being held without bond. At the time of his arrest in connection with Reddick's death, it was also noted that Harper was a suspect in another homicide that occurred in January 2024.
