On the night of June 26, 2025, in east Macon, 21-year-old Couri Woodford Jr., male, was shot inside a home on the 3300 block of Majestic Lane. Deputies responded around 11 p.m. to a report of a person with a gunshot wound; Couri Woodford Jr., 21, was found critically injured and was pronounced dead shortly after midnight, in the first moments of June 27.
